SELFISH. Someone who lacks consideration for others;
who is mainly concerned with one’s personal profit or pleasure.
sa trabaho, sa negosyo, and so the list goes on .
Here’s what we can remind ourselves
if ever we realize that our intentions are being self-centered:
DO NOTHING OUT OF SELFISH AMBITION
One of the ways to avoid being selfish is to remind ourselves not to be one.
We might want to ask these questions to evaluate:
“Para kanino ba ako nagta-trabaho?”
“Para saan ba ang pag-iipon kong ito?”
“Bakit gusto kong sumikat at mahalin ng tao?”
“Am I aspiring to achieve out of my ambition or be of service to other people?”
DON’T TRY TO IMPRESS OTHERS
Remember, our identity doesn’t come from people
to the point that we are obliged to please them.
Laging tandaan, we will never be happy when we choose to live the rest of our lives pleasing people.
The void in our hearts can only be filled by the Lord.
THINK OF OTHERS TOO
We might regard ourselves as someone who is better, knowledgeable,
resourceful, talented and intelligent. When there are some people we
know who has the potential to achieve more, this is a good opportunity
for us to acknowledge them, and even lift them up when they feel discouraged.
Thinking and putting others above ourselves is being selfless.
Little by little, we are already creating an atmosphere
of gratitude, appreciation, camaraderie and service.
Yung makita nating masaya ang ibang tao through this.
