May favorite ka bang kama?
How about favorite unan?
How will you know if you are?
Do you have the tendency to feel very uncomfortable when there are changes happening?
Do you reject the idea of anything that disrupts your routine?
Do you tolerate the comforts in your life, even you feel that it is not the right thing?
Sino ba ang may ayaw ng ginhawa, pero too much comfort can kill us.
Why do I say this? Because being in the comfort zone..
…HINDERS US FROM GROWING
Familiarity makes a task into a routine.
Comfort zones do not welcome challenges. Challenges keep us thinking dahil may something new tayong nararanasan. Kung walang challenge, walang learning. At kung walang learning, walang growth. Sabi nga, “Once you stop learning, you start dying.”
…STOPS US FROM SEEING GREATER THINGS
Comfort zones give us the illusion that we are content with where we are. Being satisfied with what we have is good, but what if there are greater things waiting to be pursued?
Pero ‘di nila alam that beyond those walls is a flourishing green forest, abundant with resources – greater than the world they have known.
Kung ikakahon din natin ang ating sarili sa mga bagay na pamilyar o komportable, we will be robbed of the opportunity to have a better life.
What if nag-settle ka to be an employee dahil job security and regular cash inflow ang priorities mo? Pero ‘yun pala, God is calling you to have a business of your own? Dahil takot ka to take risks, napakawalan mo ang opportunity to have a higher income, the luxury of a flexible schedule, and the privilege to create jobs for other people.
…KEEPS US FROM EXPERIENCING THE THRILL OF LIFE
Being in our comfort zone is definitely boring – you see the same faces everyday and do the same work daily. Para ka lang nasa assembly line. You punch in, work, punch out, sleep, and the cycle repeats every single day.
May ibang tao na naglalakas-loob to take a leap of faith to explore their potentials and explore the world! ‘Yung iba na, they choose to leave their jobs to pursue their passion. Others choose to risk job security to provide livelihood for other people.
‘Yung pag-iwan pa lang sa mga “security blankets” na ito ay nakakatakot na, yet it gives us the thrill of life and can eventually give us fulfillment.
Can you maximize the purpose of amusement parks if you choose to just stay on the ground and stroll? No. You need to take courage and ride the rollercoaster or the giant ferris wheel para sulit ang entrance fee!
Ganoon din sa buhay. We need to try risky things to feel that we are truly alive.
In Matthew 14:29, we read that “…Peter went over the other side of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus.” Sa tingin mo ba, could Peter walk on water kung ‘di siya naglakas-loob to step out of his comfort zone – the boat? Dahil sa faith niya, he and Jesus are the only people to have walked on water!
Now the question is, do you want to experience amazing things in life? Then, choose to get out of your comfort zone!
Take a leap of faith today!
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.
Ano ang comfort zone mo ngayon?
Ano ang gagawin mo to get out of your comfort zone?
What are the things you need to prepare in your leap of faith?
