Do you experience traffic on a daily basis?
But many have no choice but to brave through it on a daily basis.
Since most have no choice but to go to work.
But I know my friend who is earning a decent income from P25,000 to as high as P70,000 a month. Surprisingly, my friend is working from home.
How can you earn that much working from home?
Yes, my friend call themselves as Virtual Professionals.
Virtual professionals render administrative work for clients abroad, which may consist of responding to emails, communicating via phone calls, creating a database for the efficient management of data, doing research, transcriptions and coordination tasks, and any other work that does not require physical presence.
Given this wide variety of work, there are a set of skills that are important for a virtual professional to have in order to be successful in such line of work.

COMMUNICATION

Virtual professionals are expected to have excellent communication skills, whether in verbal or written form. They must be able to express themselves articulately, in a way that is positive and professional, and in a way that is best understood by the other party.
Not only should virtual professionals be excellently expressive, but they also need to be excellently receptive. It also follows that they are easily able to understand the information and follow the instructions communicated to them.

COORDINATION

Inevitably, just as it is with any line of work, there are other people involved. This is where the importance of coordination comes in. A virtual professional must be able to make sure that all moving pieces of the work are moving well, and all involved partnerships and relationships are maintained to be professional, efficient, and in healthy collaboration.

RESEARCH

Thankfully, everything and anything is now on Google. However, given the vastness of available information out there, it is important for a virtual professional to be able to filter out the information clutter, and pick out those that are useful, important, and highly credible.

ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT

Administration and management essentially point to providing support to the client in every area possible. This can constitute answering calls, returning emails and other such similar tasks; managing documents and other data, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars.
Fundamental to good administration and management is having a good mastery of computer applications and programs like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

DIGITAL MEDIA

In a digital age such as this, it will be a huge plus for you as a virtual professional to have digital media skills. This can range from social media management, content promotion, online ad posting, to writing blogs. Other important digital skills include being able to set up webinars or online meetings, and being able to use online apps or different social media platforms (like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.)
Actually, the skills required of a virtual professional are not very different from the skills required for other full-time office employment positions. The only difference is transforming it into the context of the work or task that will be delegated to you by the clients. Overall, you can apply the current experience and expertise that you have, and use them as you become a self-employed virtual professional.
I myself have a virtual team, and I can see how these skills enable them to be effective in the work that they do with me.
The great thing about all these skills is that you can learn these skills and easily hone them. There are free online courses that can help you equip yourself to be an indispensable and highly valued virtual professional.
Remember this:
“No one is born with skill. It is developed through exercise, through repetition, through a blend of learning and reflection that is both painstaking and rewarding.” – Twyla Tharp
