Abuse happens when one person tries to control or hurt another.
It can take on different forms – from physical, emotional, verbal, to sexual.
So, how do we protect ourselves from being abused?
LEARN HOW TO SAY NO
When people are abusing you, make a stand, stop them, and say no. Yes, you can’t control the way other people treat you, but you can control how you respond to them.
You don’t need to fight them. I’m not saying na makipagsabunutan or makipagsuntukan ka sa mga taong umaabuso sa’yo.
What I’m trying to say is, deal with them in a peaceful manner. Confront them and let them know that you dislike what they are doing to you.
FIND A SUPPORT GROUP
You need people who can boost your confidence, uplift your spirit, encourage you, and comfort you whenever you are down. These people can also help you deal with those offending you.
SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP
More so, if you are physically and sexually-abused…
It can be a doctor, a counselor, a psychiatrist, or a person of authority.
It can affect your self-esteem, your relationships, and your whole being. We are created in God’s image.
Huwag kang mag-paapi.
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY.
Naranasan mo na bang maabuso at maapi?
Anong ginawa mo to stop it?
Do you trust God to fight for you?
