ALAM MO BANG ADULT KA NA?

Natatandaan n’yo pa ba?
Yung mga panahon na tayo’y bata pa.
Naglalaro ng bahay-bahayan, lutu-lutuan, office-opisan.
Tapos kunwari ay may sarili nang pamilya.
Nai-stress sa mga bayarin at responsibilidad.

Pero ngayong nakatapos na tayo sa pag-aaral,
nagsisimula nang makibakbakan sa corporate world.
Nakikipag-unahan sa pila ng jeep makasakay lamang.
Kung saan ang tulog ay pinapangarap na.
Parang gusto na nating bumalik sa pagkabata
at i-enjoy ang mga panahong tayo’y inosente pa.

Ang ironic no? Parang baliktad ang mundo? Ha-ha!
Kailan nga ba masasabing adult na tayo?

Kung nagagawa nating mag-go with the flow o spontaneous
ang mga lakad nung college years natin,
iba naman ang scenario at present dahil may trabaho na.
D’yan na nagaganap ang madalas na overtime
from Mondays to Fridays, dagdagan pa ng weekends.
Tapos hindi agad-agad pwedeng makakuha ng leave from work.

Kaya ang nagiging action plan natin d’yan
ay i-kalendaryo ang tentative catch-ups o dates.
Even with family gatherings, reunions, other special occasions.
Sa stage na ito ng buhay natin, natututo tayong i-balanse ang lahat.
Kahit mahirap, but at least we are learning.

As a working adult, madalas na rin itong mangyayari.
Halimbawa ay papasok ng 7:00 A.M. sa opisina.
May instances na kahit 5:00 P.M. ang out,
mag-a-out ng 7:00 P.M. o kaya ang worst is 9:00 P.M. onwards.
Lalo na kung hindi pa matapos-tapos yung reports,
may deadlines na hinahabol, at iba pang mga projects.

Kaya hindi na rin kataka-taka na kung ang iba
ay sinasabihan nang “walang lovelife”.
Funny it may seem, but this is really happening.
Ang biro pa ng iba, paano magkaka-lovelife?
Kung maaga umaalis ng bahay
at pagkatapos ay madilim na kung umuuwi.
Wala nang makakakita sa beauty lalo ng ladies! Ha-ha!

Dahil tayo ay may trabaho na,
dito na rin pumapasok ang responsibilidad
sa mga bayarin, gastusin, utang, at iba pa.
Lalo na kung tayo yung maituturing na bread winner.

pagkakuha pa lang ng sweldo
ay may nakalaang percentage na agad
sa kung saan ito mapupunta.

Ang pagiging adult ay hindi lang naman nagsisimula sa edad
o kaya ay status ng buhay at anyo ng katawan.
Ito rin ay nagsisimula mula sa isipan.
How we look at things and respond to it.

As an adult, we also mature in all aspects.
Sa pamilya, sa relationships, sa trabaho
at lalo na sa paghahawak natin ng pera.
