Abuse happens when one person tries to control or hurt another.
Maraming klase ng pang-aabuso.
It can be physical, emotional, verbal and sexual.
Abuse can also be other things, like putting you down and making you feel worthless, or being possessive and jealous to the point of stopping you from speaking to friends or family.
These things can be just as hurtful as physical violence or abuse.
Kung ikaw ay inaabuso at api-apihan, maybe you are asking, “what can I do to stop this?” Here are some steps that you can take:
LEARN TO SAY NO
When people are abusing you, make a stand, stop them and say “NO.” You may not be able to control someone’s action, but you can control yours. You don’t need to fight them. I’m not saying na makipagsabunutan or makipagsuntukan ka sa mga taong umaabuso sa iyo. What I’m trying to say is for you to deal with them in a peaceful manner. Confront them and let them know that you do not tolerate what they are doing to you.
FIND A SUPPORT GROUP
You need people who can boost your confidence, uplift your soul, encourage you and comfort you whenever you are down because of abuse. These people can also help you to deal with those people who hurt and abuse you.
SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP
You need to especially seek professional help if you are being physically and sexually abused. It can be a doctor, a counselor, a psychiatrist or someone in authority.
It can affect your self-esteem, your relationships and your whole being.
We are created in God’s image.
You are bought with a price. When Jesus died on the cross, He thought of you. He loves you so much. As long as you’re doing what is right and you’re pleasing God, you can be sure that God is at work.
Be still and let GOD fight for you. He is sovereign. He will not let the righteous to fall.
THINK. REFLECT. APPLY
Anong ginawa mo to stop it?
Do you trust God that He will fight for you?
