My guest last Sunday was Billy Bautista. He is a PWD and was born without legs. Despite of his handicap, he remains to be productive and is earning a generous income by working from home.
He talked about the “Benefits and Advantages of Working as a Virtual Assistant.”

Work-From-Home Set Up

Other people’s dream of working from home is a reality for virtual assistants. A virtual assistant works remotely, meaning he or she doesn’t have to go to a physical office. This is a huge advantage, especially nowadays when traffic in the city is just horrible.
As a virtual assistant, you can either enjoy doing work in the comfort of your own home, in your favorite coffeeshop, or even anywhere in the world — maybe at a beachfront or at a vacation house away from the city. This way, you can get all the inspiration you need to work excellently.

No stress from daily commute and traffic

For many, the most stressful part of their office work is actually their the way to their office. Some people wake up as early as 3AM every single day just to get to work on time. What’s even more painful is that sometimes they still get to the office late because of an LRT or MRT breakdown, or because of really bad traffic. And so, even if they did their part of waking up at 3 AM, they still arrive late.
The result? Salary deduction. In short, even if it’s not their fault, they’re the ones paying for it.
So just imagine, when you become a virtual assistant, gone are the days when the traffic will bother you and stress you out. Gone are the days when you have to endure long lines and crowded buses. Gone are the days when the unpredictable commute in the morning and evening sucks the life out of you.

No dress code

Because you don’t have to go to the office as a virtual assistant, you don’t have to worry about the dress code and getting a memo from the HR. You can do work in your most comfortable clothes. Plus, in a practical sense, you save time and money for laundry!

Increased productivity and work-life balance

Do you remember those days when your life revolved around work? All you ever did was wake up early, go to work, go home late, and sleep. That’s it. It’s like you’re simply surviving to work.
As a virtual assistant, because you no longer have to waste away 2-3 hours a day for your commute, you can spend this time doing more productive things. You can spend more time with your family, read a book, engage in sports, and increase your knowledge and skills. This way, you can live a more productive and holistic life.
I personally see this in my personal virtual assistants and the virtual teams that I have. It is my joy to have them working with me and at the same time see them do the things that make their lives fulfilling like be with their family, take up a master’s degree, or run a marathon.
