Gaano kadalas ang minsan?
Ang minsan na masabihan
si Nanay at Tatay ng “I love you”.
kundi araw-araw habang sila’y buhay at malakas pa.
Sabi nila, “Only God knows
until when we will live here on earth.”
Hihintayin pa ba nating uugud-ugud,
mahina, makakalimutin at hirap silang magsalita
bago natin ma-realize that they are not
growing young anymore?
I believe, we all love our parents
as much as they love us also.
Pero bakit may mga pagkakataon
na parang ang hirap ipadama sa kanila
ang pagmamahal at pag-aaruga?
WE FEEL LIKE BEING EXPRESSIVE AT TIMES MEANS BEING CORNY
(Photo from this Link)
Tayo ba yung hindi sanay sa hugging,
and being expressive such as saying “I love you”?
“Allergic ako d’yan, Chinkee!”
“Masyadong corny, I kenat!”
There’s this mindset that expressing our feelings
is being corny, uncool or unusual.
So instead of verbally expressing it,
minsan pinapabayaan na lang natin.
Or we stick to the thought of…
“Alam naman na nilang mahal ko sila, so no need to tell.”
BUT SAYING THAT WE LOVE THEM LIGHTEN THEIR HEARTS
(Photo from this Link)
They might know that we already love them.
BECAUSE FOR THEM, RECEIVING AN “I LOVE YOU” MEANS SO MUCH
(Photo from this Link)
Lalo pa’t nagkakaedad na sila ngayon.
At the age of 50 and above,
sometimes they overthink.
We might have our own families,
and our parents are already growing old,
for them, it’s a great joy when we tell them…
“Pa! Ma! I love you!”
