Sino ba naman ang hindi nakakakilala kay Michael Jordan? Pagdating sa basketball, tila ‘legend’ kung ituring si MJ. Talaga namang masasabi nating isa siyang history maker.
Marahil hangang-hanga kayo sa galing nyang mag-basketball, pero ako naman ay hangang-hanga sa tapang niya. Aba’y hindi biro ang training, disiplina at pag-eensayo na pinagdaanan niya. Katakot-takot na sakripisyo ang ginawa para lang marating ang rurok ng tagumpay.
Ngunit higit sa lahat, ang susi sa kanyang tagumpay ay ang kanyang kakayanang harapin ang mga takot na nae-encounter niya. Siguro kung natakot siya at hindi niya hinarap ito, walang tayong superstar na ‘Michael Jordan’ ngayon.
Fear can be self-fulfilling. Sometimes the only thing holding you back from being successful is the fear of failure. Gumagawa tayo ng sarili nating multo—mga bagay na kinakatakutan natin na di naman nag e-exist o kaya ay di pa nangyayari.
When we let go of our fears, we’re free to be more aggressive and take full advantage of our challenges and opportunities. But the question is, how can we overcome our fears? Here are some of my suggestions:
IDENTIFY
Identify what you are afraid of.
List down all your fears.
Pagkatapos mong ilista lahat ng fears mo ay—
I-identify mo ang root cause ng fears na ito.
Alamin mo ang ugat kung bakit mo kinakatakutan yun.
Kapag nalaman mo na ang mga dahilan, it is time for you to have…
POSITIVITY
Always think positive. Tuwing nakakaramdam ka ng takot, baliktarin mo ito. Instead of thinking of something bad that can happen, think of something good. Kung ikaw ay magne-negosyo, huwag mong iisipin na baka malugi, isipin mo kung magkano ang puwedeng kitain. Kung nasa sales ka, huwag mong iisipin, paano na kung hindi bumili? Isipin mo paano kung sila ay bumili. Fear is often present in the mind. Kaya napakahalaga that you feed your mind with positive thoughts.
ASK
Huwag mahihiya na humingi ng tulong. Find a coach, a mentor or a buddy with whom you can share your fears. Allow that person to encourage you, feed you with positive thoughts, help you find solutions, give you advice and even walk with you in your journey. Madalas kailangan lang natin ng kasama para mawala ang ating takot.
GRATITUDE
Whenever you feel fear, switch it over to what you are grateful for instead. Halimbawa, kung takot ka sa public speaking, just be grateful for the opportunity to communicate in front of many people. Kung halimbawang takot ka sumakay ng eroplano, be grateful that you have the chance to travel and ride on a plane. I know you’re getting my point.
Higit sa lahat, whenever you feel afraid, pray. Talk to GOD. Sa Kanya mo hugutin ang courage and strength na kailangan mo to overcome your fears. He has also promised that He will never leave you, nor forsake you. So whatever your fears may be, be assured that He is with you as you face it.

THINK. REFLECT. APPLY
